Well, we had a bit of a rough night last night. Sara couldn't get her fluid drained last night, and so they gave her some relaxers and she tried to get comfortable enough to sleep. I stayed the night in her room to help her if she needed it. Laying across a couple chairs (not the most comfortable).
Right now we are waiting for the doctor to come in and drain her fluids. After that, if they still don't have a diagnosis, then we'll start the process of looking at transferring her to another hospital or something for a second opinion. Please pray for her in this time for comfort and mostly just to get some answers. I think the hardest part right now is just not knowing what to do next.
We thank you all for your support and prayers. We love you guys.

ReplyDeleteMy mom hooked me up with the blog link so I could know what's going on. I appreciate the update and hope things will start to improve soon.
In the meantime, is there anything I can do to help? Mow your lawn, bring you food, stuff like that? We always have extra whenever Kristie cooks, and if you (probably not Sara, based on what I've read) are in the mood for cookies or whatever, Kristie always likes a reason to bake.
Anyway, let me know if we can do anything. We're so close geographically I feel like there's some way I can contribute.

Hi Sara and Tim - You guys are a great team! Particularly liked the Blackhawk fever diagnosis. Such great humor in the midst of illness is good medicine! Know you are in thought and prayer.

ReplyDeleteCorey and I were at small group and shared the news we knew so far (as of Wednesday). Alesia Devine is in our small group and is an ER nurse. She figured it was the thoracic duct that was torn and stated that many patients end up with a chest tube to continuously drain fluid from around their lungs. She also stated that many of the patients she has seen were on TPN until the duct healed.
Thought I would pass that on and also let you know that we are all praying for you in our small group.
Love,
Kristin & Corey
